Hitch...

I may be behind on this, but as I was cruising around on the good old internet I happened to find out that the Belgium based Hitch are set to release a new album on the 26th of January come next year. This is definitely good news. Over here in the US I imagine it would be surprising to some to know that Hitch have been around for quite a few years now, as their upcoming album will mark their 5th full-length album. Being a huge sucker for anything 90’s post-hardcore related, Hitch are a band that play right into my main musical interests and will likely continue to do so come January.

I happened to run across the band after their release of their second album Monolith in 2002, thanks probably to the US release of it through Divot Records. Otherwise I probably would have been left in the dark about this band for even longer, which would have been bad. However, with the internet I can’t imagine it would have taken THAT much longer. Anyway, Hitch has been around since the mid-nineties, releasing four fantastic albums of crunchy post-hardcore in the area of Quicksand, Drive-Like Jehu, and Fugazi. Yeah, pretty general comparisons, but honestly anyone who likes any of those either already knows about Hitch or should surely get to know them here in the near future. Their last album was in ’06, which is titled We Are Electric! and definitely worth checking out for those that haven’t heard it. So, familiarize yourself with Hitch below and then pick up some of those albums for sure.

Monolith:
Hitch – Unlearn What I’ve Become [MP3]

Trails Are Ablaze:
Hitch – Minus Ratio [MP3]

We Are Electric!:
Hitch – Pull Your Weight [MP3]

For those interested in picking up albums from Hitch there are still copies of most of their releases up on Amazon, although it takes a bit of sorting through to find.

Doesn't Hitch have some sort of dEUS/Millionaire connection?

Or am I confusing them with someone else?
