Gunna Vahm…
I’m back after a brief absence due to holiday family obligations, which means I sat around eating and watching other people’s cable. Really, that’s about it. I was however the lucky recipient of a laptop. Not quite sure what I will use it for, but maybe it will help me be a bit more productive and allow me to update a bit more often. Who knows? Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the top 20 while I was away. Now back to the grind…
Based out of Philadelphia, PA the noise rock trio of Gunna Vahm was formed in or around 2002. They released a demo the following year titled Christless and in 2004 followed that up with a split 7 inch single with Fight Amp. Reptilian Records released their CDEP Man Hands for Rump Lust in 2006, during the same year the band also recorded what was to be a full-length, however it has since been apparently scrapped. Although quite limited in release, the band also put out a three song cassette through Knife Hits in ’07 named Dry Docked.
Although Gunna Vahm’s output is a bit limited, their Man Hands for Rump Lust EP is well worth checking out for the excellent twenty minutes of tuneful noisy rock it offers. The band is currently on hiatus due to their drummer slipping into a coma sadly. However, the band plans to be back in the coming year according to their MySpace. In the meantime check out some tunes below.
Man Hands for Rump Lust:
Gunna Vahm – Whore out the Hole [MP3]
Dry Docked:
Gunna Vahm – Seeing Stars [MP3]
Both the EP and the cassette exclusive release are still available. Hit up Reptilian for Man Hands for Rump Lust and Knife Hits for the three song Dry Docked cassette. Enjoy!
