Powerwagon…

 Powerwagon...
 Powerwagon...

Finally got around to ripping this single from the noise-rock trio Powerwagon so I could do a small little post about the band and their short run during the early to mid 90’s. Based out of Madison, WI Powerwagon released the Sister 7-inch pictured here in 1993 through the also Wisconsin based Bovine Records. Although it’s definitely a decent single, the band kicks it into a bit higher of a gear on their full-length that followed it titled Lower Life Forms which was released on Pinecone Records in 1995. The album is full of sludgy fuzzed out noise that really begins to take hold about two or three songs into it. It also features re-recorded versions of both “Sister” and “Blind” from the 7-inch. Their final release would come in the form of a split single with Exit once again through Pinecone, although I don’t happen to own this one sadly nor have I ever heard it. However, I can vouch for the first couple releases and I definitely recommend checking it out if you’ve got some time and a couple dollars to throw down on Amazon for the album. In the meantime check out the single and a tune from the album posted below.

Like I said, anyone that is digging the tunes above can still pick up a copy of the album Lower Life Forms on Amazon for only a couple of dollars or so. Enjoy!
