Proudentall – Snowed Skyline 7” (1997, Self-Released)
Aside from a very limited demo tape, this was the first release from KC’s Proudentall. Although released probably when most Midwestern emo acts were ending their runs, this 7-inch in particular fit right along with the sort of sound that Boys Life and Giants Chair pretty much perfected during the mid-nineties. Proudentall would later release an album in 2000 titled What’s Happening Here, which is worth checking out although by that point they had sort of moved away from the raw stuttering rhythms they presented here on this 7-inch. Anyway, here is the Snowed Skyline single for everyone’s listening pleasure (I hope).

Their album is still very much available through Amazon both used and new. So give it a go if you like the tunes above. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for posting this! Great stuff. They're one of those bands I'd always wanted to look into but never did. Finally 12 years later! Still awesome.
I think, however, there's a problem with the Snowed Skyline mp3 – the last 10-12 seconds skip and quickly cut out. I thought it was just me, but I tried downloading it again and it still skipped. Just FYI.
Thanks again and I really love your blog.

Glad to be of help. And thanks for the kind words about the blog.
I checked out the Snowed Skyline MP3 and downloaded it from the site myself to listen to it and it seemed to play fine. Although I can't figure out why that same problem would occur for you twice if there is nothing wrong with the file. I'll try and upload it again regardless and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

Hey there. This is John Cruz. I played drums in Proudenall. Thanks so much for transferring these to MP3 form. I'm actually compiling all the stuff we recorded for posterity sake.
Not sure if you have or heard our full length record "What's Happening Here." If not, I'd be happy to send you a copy.
Thank again!
John
