Milk…
The Minnesota based Milk will likely be the only band that whenever I look at a bottle of cough syrup I will always think, “Yeah, that’s what that band sounds like”. Milk was around during the early to mid nineties and released three albums through the Spanish Fly/Twin-Tone label. Their sound was a disorienting mixture of polyrhythmic tones taken even further by the anxiety driven vocal delivery from singer/guitarist Brett Gross. The product of it all was something that often led to a bit of uneasiness when listening to it, however it was certainly unique and when it was all said and done I ended up with just about everything this band released. I recall not even liking their first album Ear that much on first listen. It’s funny how that works.
Anyway, here are two of the bands earlier singles. Both were released in 1992. One through the Big Money Inc. label and the other through their more familiar home Spanish Fly. For further listening I suggest checking out their final album So Many Dynamos that appeared in 1996. It’s probably available on Amazon for change.
