Built on a Weak Spot

Having never heard this lovely demo when it was originally recorded and distributed in 2003, I was fairly pleased to see it show up. Fan Death know what’s up apparently as they’ve seen it fit to re-release this 20 minute demo from Baltimore’s finest noise-rock outfit The New Flesh. It’s currently available only on cassette in a limited run of 200, however once these run out there will be no more according to the label. So yeah, if you’re a fan…get this…NOW. This is some very very nasty lo-fi noise that just goes on to beat you senseless for roughly twenty minutes in the best way possible. Perfect for anyone who likes to sit down and relax to the soothing sounds of Drunks With Guns, Rusted Shut, or anything of that variety really. This demo is great for a variety of reasons. One simply being that The New Flesh is great at what they do, which would be being pissed off and playing instruments. Another being that this is some of the bands rawest and most punishing material not already found on the Filth & Degradation releases. And lastly, it will keep people from speaking to you unwontedly if played within a reasonable distance.

To those that may be hearing the band for the first time, well…if you think this stuff is ripping you apart then be sure to check out the two full-lengths (Parasite and Vessel) that would follow this angry piece of plastic. In case you’re wondering, no…they do not soften with age.
