Pigeon Religion – Dead Boss & Scorpion Milk 7"s

The Phoenix, Arizona based Pigeon Religion has been spending a good amount of time on my stereo lately it seems. Really ever since I had a chance to hear the Crystallized Meth cassette they put out not too long ago. However, they’ve been a mainstay in recent days because of the two new singles they’ve recently put out on Parts Unknown and Gilgongo that continues to see the band dealing in the sort of sleaze vending noise-rock that I just can’t say no to. This is some solid stuff no matter though and fans of all that late 80’s/early 90’s weirdo drugged out noise would be probably be well served in checking this out if you already haven’t. You just have to enjoy something that almost starts out like a formidable rock song then quickly devolves into the incoherent shouts and guitar feedback that most of these tracks seem to relish in. You can practically picture these guys just flailing about on the floor and presenting themselves as a danger to whomever is near them at the time. Excellent material, don’t miss it.

Those wishing to pick up either of these singles can still do so. Dead Boss is currently available through Gilgongo, while the other can be had over at Parts Unknown.
