Festering Rinyanyons – Peacful Easy Feelin’ 7” (1993, Bovine)

Here is a single from the underrated Dekalb, IL trio Festering Rinyanyons. They were around for a short period in the early 90’s and released three or so singles and a full-length record before splitting up. This one, the Peacful Easy Feelin’ 7-inch, happens to be from the great Madison, WI based Bovine Records and contains a couple songs that I don’t think appeared elsewhere. Those that haven’t heard the band, well…it’s pretty much right in line with all of the scuzzy sort of noise-rock/punk that spilled out during that time. Their full-length Flatlander Recluse was released in 1994 on Bovine as well, and the band seemingly deteriorated not long after that. Not really sure what the members are doing these days. Bob Schaeffer was part of a side project with Todd Rittman, Tim Meshcer, & Mike Waterman called Double Boar that released a single on yet again…Bovine. Schaeffer has since done solo work that I know of but that’s as far as my knowledge extends. Other Rinyanyons member Jace Krause dabbled in electronics under the moniker of Lost in Translation for awhile.

If you’re enjoying that and don’t already have it, definitely track down their full-length. Well worth it.
